Student-developed app helps those with speech problems express themselves

As part of his Professional Experience Year, EngSci student Akash Sahney (1T2+PEY) helped develop an app to assist people with speech problems. Working in tandem with other UofT students and alumni and the U of T's Technologies for Aging Gracefully Lab, Akash and his colleagues built technology entitled MyVoice for smart phones that allows individuals to use their mobile devices as speech aids.
