From Engineer to Aliebn: A chat with pop culture phenom Jonny Sun (EngSci 1T1 PEY)

Students and alumni are invited to a thought-provoking and inspiring talk by author and pop culture phenom Jonathan Sun (EngSci 1T1 + PEY), best known by his Twitter alias: “jomny sun, aliebn confuesed abot humamn lamgauge.”

Find out why Time magazine selected Sun as one of the “25 Most Influential People on the Internet.”

Sun will discuss how his short-form writing project on Twitter became a critically acclaimed book and how his time at U of T Engineering was formative to his creative and personal development.

A book signing and sale will follow the talk!

18th Annual Engineering Science Alumni Dinner

Engineering Science and Engineering Physics graduates are invited to the 18th Annual Engineering Science Dinner.

Join fellow alumni, faculty members and students for a lively cocktail reception where student clubs will show off some of their newest creations, followed by a festive dinner in the beautiful Great Hall at Hart House–this year with a special musical surprise!

We are delighted to welcome EngSci alumnus Tom Chau (9T2) as our keynote speaker. Professor Chau was recently awarded the Order of Ontario–the province’s highest honour–for his pioneering work creating unique communication technologies for children with complex disabilities.

Praxis Showcase II @ Great Hall, Hart House, University of Toronto

During the Praxis II Showcase, students in this first year course share their proposed engineering designs for a wide variety of projects in the Toronto area.

Community stakeholders, interested members of the public, students, faculty and alumni are invited to interact with students as they share posters, prototypes and presentations.
