Research Opportunities
The Engineering Science Research Opportunities Program (ESROP) was created to harness and channel the enthusiasm that Engineering Science students have for research by providing them, early in their academic careers, with the opportunity to work with faculty members on research-based intellectual collaborations over the course of the summer. Through ESROP, students will join established research groups, gain an understanding of the research process, and take part in intellectually vibrant research activities.
- Approximately ten ESROP fellowships are available for students wishing to undertake a summer (May-August) research project.
- These fellowships are open to students who are completing first or second year of the Engineering Science program.
- Fellowships are open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents or visa students.
- Students are welcome to approach faculty members at the University of Toronto to be their supervisors as well as faculty members at other universities.
- The value of an ESROP fellowship is $3,000.
- The research supervisor is required to make a contribution to the summer salary equal to or greater than the value of the fellowship.
- Successful applicants will be required to provide a written report (two pages) to the Division of Engineering Science at the end of the summer summarizing their research experience in the program.
