ESROP: Global Alumni Volunteers

Each year the Division of Engineering Science sends 30 to 35 enterprising EngSci students abroad to conduct summer research at our partner institutions. These placements allow students to work alongside leading academics at renowned research facilities around the world. Read about the experiences of some previous participants here.

This program is extremely popular and highly valued by our students. Because of this, we typically receive over 150 applications. To ensure that the strongest candidates are chosen, the Division of Engineering Science is looking for alumni who can help with assessment of the applications.  This work would require about two hours of your time to review applications and provide feedback on the Statement of Research Interest and two free-form questions.

Timeline:  Once the student application has closed in January, Engineering Science Curriculum Officer Scott Sleeth will send you a package containing several (~8-10) applications for review, along with instructions and a link to an online feedback form.  You should receive the package on January 9th, 2019.  To meet partner institution deadlines, we request that you submit your review of the applications by January 16th, 2019.

To participate in the 2019 ESROP: Global application process, please complete the fields below by Friday December 7th, 2018. If at any point you have any questions, please contact Scott Sleeth at or 416-978-2660.
