Vancouver, BC – Thinking Out Loud Together: Why Civil Discourse Matters On and Off Campus

April 27 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Free

This regional alumni and friends event is open to all U of T community members in the Vancouver area.

In his talk, novelist and professor Randy Boyagoda (HBA 1999 A&S TRIN), the University of Toronto’s advisor on civil discourse, explores the challenges of thinking out loud together across our personal, professional, and public lives. He’ll discuss the U of T’s civil discourse portfolio, why a commitment to disagreeing well and dialogue across difference matters, and how the university is taking a leading role in this important area.

Professor Boyagoda is Vice-Dean, Undergraduate in the Faculty of Arts & Science and a professor in the Department of English. His work at the university in civil discourse earned him a place on Toronto Life magazine’s list of Toronto’s 50 most influential people in 2024.

Don’t miss this chance to sit in on an exclusive talk and connect with fellow U of T community members in Vancouver.
