“My research is entitled Recreating Great Experiments and Discoveries in Physics and Engineering with Assistant Professor Anjam Khursheed. The research focuses on the practical side of engineering, and I was responsible for making prototypes that will be used as demonstrations to high school and first year students. This fellowship was a great experience for me, both in terms of the research itself and being abroad. I got the chance to meet other engineering students from universities around the world, such as UC Berkeley and Empirical College of London, and learned about engineering as a profession in other countries.
Being abroad exploring Singapore and nearby countries have been among the best experiences I’ve ever had. Learning about and experiencing different cultures, and exploring diverse cities has been exciting and inspiring. I summited the most active volcano in Indonesia on my own, and that was a once in a life time experience.
I am proud to be one of the 12 U of T EngSci’s at NUS this summer; we had an awesome group and I will have many of good memories to take home with me, from travelling with this group of colleagues. It is a challenge to live and study in a different country, but at the same time, it is also an unforgettable fun adventure.”
