Teaching virtually during COVID-19: U of T Engineering professors share how they’re adapting

Professor Jason Foster (EngSci) is seen teaching a class of 300 students in EngSci’s first year engineering design course using the online platform Twitch.

The University of Toronto cancelled in-class courses on March 16, to help minimize transmission of the novel coronavirus.

With support from U of T Engineering’s Education Technology Office, instructors quickly pivoted to online platforms to deliver their courses virtually through the rest of the semester.

U of T Engineering News checked in with a few professors across the Faculty, including EngSci’s Professor Jason Foster, to share tips and lessons learned in the transition from in-person to online teaching.
