EngSci alumnus named AIAA Fellow

The long list of accolades that recognize Jonathan How (EngSci 8T7) as a leader in the field of aeronautics and astronautics has just grown by one–he has been named a fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). This is the highest distinction given by the AIAA, the world’s largest aerospace professional society, in recognition of those who embody the highest possible standards in this field and have made unique contributions.

Dr. How is currently head of the Aeronautics and Astronautics Department’s Information Sector at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his research focuses on distributed robust planning algorithms to coordinate groups of autonomous vehicles in uncertain environments; sensor fusion and navigation; and aerial robotics and agile flight.
