Resources and Opportunities

Get involved with EngSci!

EngSci alumni support our students and program by generously volunteering their time for mentorship, panel discussions, in-class career talks, networking events, award committees, and more.

Alumni are also involved in the Engineering Science Summer Research Opportunities Program (ESROP) as hosts at academic institutions, or as volunteer assessors who help evaluate student applications to the program.

You may be working with a lawyer to ensure your letter includes all requested information in the correct format.  We are happy to provide such experience letters related to the EngSci program only in PDF format on U of T letterhead.

Once you have clearly established the information required, please send the following to our acting Curriculum Officer, Don Newton, at curric.engsci@utoronto.ca:

  • your full name (include your previous and/or legal name, as it appears in your student records)
  • U of T student number
  • graduation year, degree, EngSci option/major
  • the name and mailing address of the agency to which the letter should be addressed

You may provide an editable draft of the letter but all descriptions of courses, topics and skills covered, etc., will be reviewed and / or modified by the university to ensure they accurately reflect your academic experience.

This process can involve consultation with several faculty members, our Registrar's Office, and course syllabi. Please note that, while we endeavour to attend to letter requests in a timely manner, this process can take several weeks, depending on the specific circumstances.
