EngSci student Nathalin Moy (Year 4 Energy Systems) wanted her energy systems capstone project to matter.

Her hard work in the ESC 470 Energy Systems Capstone course is now the basis of a new cross-Faculty collaboration to engage engineering students in energy policy. The project brings together students from U of T Engineering and the School of Public Policy to combine their expertise on public policy assignments. The course includes tasks like briefing government officials on technical environmental issues. Teams practice the all-important skill of communicating complex technical issues to people without technical training. They also learn about the constraints of implementing policy in the real world.
