Electrifying life in one generation – What will it take?

Abstract:

Electrification, economic growth, and the effort to achieve net-zero emissions could double demand for electricity in Ontario by 2050. In short, the province is facing the most consequential period of growth for its electricity sector in a century.

Ontario Power Generation (OPG), Ontario’s largest clean power producer, is working now to support the future with our vision of electrifying life in one generation. That means building and using more of our clean, reliable power to electrify more facets of everyday life, from transportation to home heating. But what will it take to make this ambitious vision a reality?

In this engaging discussion with Subo Sinnathamby, OPG’s Chief Projects Officer, find out what OPG is doing now to electrify life and learn about how engineers with multidisciplinary expertise can help power the future through exciting, in-demand careers in the clean energy sector.

With more than 20 years of experience at OPG, including various leadership roles with the company’s nuclear division, Subo has a wealth of valuable experiences and lessons to share with students. Discuss and learn as she reflects on her journey in the energy industry in this session.
