Alumnus Raffaello D’Andrea (EngSci 9T1) has been elected as international members of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering (NAE). The NAE provides engineering leadership in service to the United States and globally; its members rank among the world’s most accomplished engineers.

Magic Flying Machines

Professor Raffaello D’Andrea (EngSci 9T1) has a knack for making beautiful technology.

At the recent 2016 I.I. Glass Lecture at the University of Toronto Institute for Aerospace Studies (UTIAS), he discussed his research into flying machines that often seem to have a touch of magic.

His work at the Institute for Dynamic Systems and Control (IDSC) at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) is on display at the Flying Machine Arena.
