EngSci is proud to count two outstanding leaders among our first year class. Kevin Han and James Xu are 2016 recipients of the prestigious Schulich Leader Scholarships that were created to foster the next generation of pioneers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
In addition to rising to the substantial academic challenge of gaining entrance to the EngSci program, both are dedicated community volunteers who have used their skills and knowledge to help where they saw a need. Kevin has worked with children in underprivileged neighbourhoods and helped raise $50,000 for cancer research, while James has taught skiing to people with disabilities.
