Yan Kiu Chan
My path from EngSci to Law School to Securities Regulation
Yan Kiu holds a B.A.Sc. (EngSci – Comp 0T3 + PEY) from the University of Toronto and an LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School. She was called to the Ontario Bar in 2008. In her spare time, Yan Kiu enjoys spending time with her two daughters, staying active, and exploring new places with her family.
Biography:
Yan Kiu Chan is a Senior Advisor in the Global and Domestic Affairs branch at the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC), where she provides strategic advice on the OSC’s engagement with government, regulators and other organizations in Canada and internationally. Yan Kiu has been with the OSC for over 13 years and has extensive operational and policy development experience in securities regulation, having worked as legal counsel / senior legal counsel in a number of different branches: Compliance and Registrant Regulation, Corporate Finance and Market Regulation. Prior to joining the OSC, Yan Kiu practiced as an associate in intellectual property law at Bereskin & Parr LLP and served as a law clerk at the Court of Appeal for Ontario.
