Two EngSci alumni elected to the Canadian Academy of Engineering

ECE Professor Paul Chow (EngSci 7T7, ECE MASc 7T9, PhD 8T4) and fellow alumus an Professor Philip Ferguson (EngSci 0T0) are among seven U of T Engineering community members to be elected as 2025 fellows of the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CEA).

Chow groundbreaking research on field-programmable gate arrays has helped modern data centres reach high performance while minimizing power requirements.  With co-founders he launched two companies based on his research:  AcceLight Networks and ArchES Computing Systems Corp.

Ferguson is a faculty members at the University of Manitoba in the field of aerospace engineering.  He has developed control and manufacturing technologies for space robotics, satellites and drones.
