Graduating EngSci student recognized for research in urban mobility

Congratulations to Gonzalo Martínez Santos (Year 4 Machine Intelligence)!

His fourth-year thesis research has earned him the second place prize for the 2023 Esri Young Scholars Award.

This work—titled A Generative Design Tool for Designing Complete Communities: Using Genetic Algorithms for Community Design Optimization—was completed under the supervision of Professor Matthew Roorda (CivMinE).

Martínez Santos is among many EngSci students whose thesis work has had a significant impact in their field.
